If using folder other than uploads, link masking does not work (1 post)

I have a folder for reports that I don't want indexed by search engines. I placed the folder at /<directory>/apps/wordpress/htdocs/myreports.

In Download Monitor, I created the upload by entering /<directory>/apps/wordpress/htdocs/myreports/test.pdf in the Edit File URL field. This works fine in EBD if the option to hide/mask real link is not selected. If I select the hide/mask option, the link displays a blank page or garbage when linking to a pdf. However, a text file in myreports will be displayed correctly.

If I use the hide/mask real link option with a file that was uploaded in Download Monitor with the Upload New File option, then everything works as expected.

Is it possible to hide/mask a link to a file that uses a directory outside of the standard uploads folder?
