If password mis-typed, prompt to retry adds spaces to username, so login fails ! (6 posts)

I mis-typed my password when I tried to log in to my blog, and when it prompted me to retry, it added extra spaces after my username, so despite then entering the password correctly, I was told I had the wrong username or password! So I thought someone had hacked my blog.
Does anyone know what to edit (login.php ?) and how (?) so this doesn't happen to others?

Use a different browser, see if the problem still happens.

I tested and this issue is resolved in 2.3.
(perhaps in 2.2 also, I checked when I had 2.12.)

Why can't I mark this RESOLVED?

This is a thread which I started. I cannot see the RESOLVED button anywhere.

Because you put it in the wrong forum...

"Request and feedback" is for writing feedback about the WP script and/or requesting new features. And in those cases there is no resolved or unresolved.

The proper forum for your question would have been : How-To and Troubleshooting.
