All of the site’s content is stored in your database. So as long as you back the database up before staring the upgrade process, your content will quite safe. I’d also recommend that you deactivate all plugins and switch to the default theme before upgrading.
Do I need to upgrade to 3.0.1?
In my opinion, definitely! By staying 1 or 2 versions below the current version, you are placing your site at risk of being hacked.
Thanks for the info.
Could you please send me the steps to do this safely?
I know it is alot to ask, but I’m afraid to mess my blog up.
1. Backup your database
2. Deactivate all plugins.
3. Switch to the default theme.
4. Use the 1-click upgrade link – it should be in the upgrade message at the top of your Admin/Dashboard area.
Once the upgrade is complete:
1. Re-activate your chosen theme.
2. Check the site and Dashboard thoroughly for signs of any problems
3. Activate 1 plugin.
4. Repeat Step 2
5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 until all plugins are either active or have been deleted as incompatible.
6. Sit back & enjoy your upgraded site.
esmi you are awesome!!!
Thanks for everything.
You are better than most businesses these days.
