• I got the note below on my website, http://www.nusparkmarketing.com. Any thoughts?

    Hi Paul,

I noticed your webpage (http://www.nusparkmarketing.com/2010/11/google-pay-per-click-options/) is not compatible with Internet Explorer 8 (IE8, the latest version of Microsoft’s web browser). It shows the page with a very dark background and makes it impossible to read. I switched into “compatibility mode” in IE8 and the page displayed correctly but many visitors may not know that trick.

I just wanted you to know so you could get it fixed.

    Best regards,
    Scott

  • I can’t see any issues with your site using IE8. But then you are currently forcing IE8 to emulate IE7 anyway:

    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />

    Thanks.
Can you take one more look; I just took it off compatibility mode..I think

The IE7 emulation is still there. You might want to turn off W3 Total Cache.

OK I think I did- disabled that.
Again, I think his issue is, what does the site look like on IE8 if you’re not in compatibility mode, I think.

Any other thoughts? I’m not a techie.

    Thank you

Still picking up a cached page…

I just clicked on the dashboard- “delete cached pages” Try now?

    Sorry – still no-go.

Well it’s back in compatibility mode, so hopefully that’ll work for those select few.

Shall I turn on wp-cache again? Benefits of that?

Caching plugins create static copies of your otherwise dynamic WordPress pages. This reduces the load on your database and your MySql server because pages are only generated every x minutes or hours instead of every page load. Useful for larger sites or those with a lot of traffic. The downside is that any changes to the site may not be seen for x minutes or hours.
