IE crashing on load off of fresh install (6 posts)

I just put up a fresh install on my own server and can't post anything. I can login and browse through all the Dashboard pages except for the "write" one, which actually causes my IE6 browser to crash on load, to the point where explorer gives me the debug option and closes down IE completely.

I created a temp account which I have confirmed creates the same error (on my computer atleast) here:

    test/temp is the login.

Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't get the error on my IE browser. I am using Ie6.0.2900.2180 etc etc. and everything seems to work. Logged in and went to the write page. I didn't try a post though.
Which version of IE you using? May try a later or older version. Personally, I only use IE to test pages, kinda fond of mozilla based programs now. Kinda like wordpress, it has one heck of a support community. :)

IE6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 is the version I'm using so yeah, the same version as you are.

So that means its something on my end. I guess I'll spend some time looking for what's wrong.

I like IE over mozilla/firefox because of its speed and how streamlined it is. It may be full of security holes but it does what I need and it does it fast. I don't really like how long firefox takes to load.

I was able to figure out something atleast. My browser no longer crashes when I disable the visual rich editor on the post page so something in there is causing it.

I have a client who is having this same issue with the rich text editor. I can't reproduce it in my IE6 (6.0.2900.2180) - everything works fine. Does anyone know if 2.0.5 provides a fix? Turning off the rich text editor isn't an option - the whole point of having them use wordpress is that they wouldn't have to learn any HTML.

Any toolbars running (or "client security" thingies) that would be disabling javascript in the client's IE?
