Support » Fixing WordPress » IE and Add Media .. always goes to top

  • I have a very odd problem. Whenever I use the Add Media button to send an image to my page/post content, it gets thrown at the very beginning of the WYSIWYG instead of where my cursor was, provided I’m using IE.

It’s also true of any plugins that use a similar dialog box, such as Gravity Forms or countless others. In IE, it always goes to the very beginning of the content.

Which version of IE, you may ask. Well, I’ve confirmed it on my machine for IE 8,9, and 10. It’s the same in all of them, while it does NOT occur in FireFox or Chrome.

Have you tried deactivating plugins and used a default theme? Yup – this is a fresh 3.5.1 installation (zero plugins) and tried the different default themes. All the same.

Note: This is ONLY a problem on this actual machine! My coworkers can all use it just fine. IE 9, IE 10, it works for everyone else but me.

I initially had IE 10, and rolled back to 9 to try that. Persisted. Rolled back to 8 to try that. Persisted. Went to 10 again. Persisted.

I’ve cleared cookies, cleared my cache. Persisted.

I see no JavaScript errors or anything.

It’s also true on WP 3.6-beta-3

I’m at my wit’s end here. What could possibly be causing this issue only for me?
