IE 8 – dropdown menu issue

Hello,

I have a WP site running a custom theme with Woocommerce. I am having an issue in IE8 with dropdown menus in woocommerce; when you try and click on a menu item the menu closes. You can use the arrow keys though and it works fine.

I tried disabling all plugins other than WooCommerce and the issue still exists. If I change themes the issue goes away. But if I do a brand new install with this theme and Woocommerce the issue does not exist. So that all being said I am stuck. How can I determine what is causing this issue?

It works fine in all other browsers; just not IE 8 and unfortunately I am getting a lot of complaints from customers.
