    Hi,

sorry for the silly question... I'm wondering if there's a way to change the Star near the title of the page/post, as far as I can see it isn't an image

To change the icon: edit file page-header.php inside the theme installation directory and edit "icon-star-empty" on line #10 which is "<h1><i class="icon-star-empty"></i></h1>". Replace with any icon name you like from Font Awesome: http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/.

fine, is there a way to not lose the customization after a theme upgrade?

Just go to Appearance -> Theme Options -> Backup Options and copy the text inside the text box.

As the 'star' is an icon from the Font Awesome collection (here), I found that changing the name of the icon in the Theme Options - Header Options - Character Icon Name did the trick. Try it with just 'star' or 'anchor'.
