   If we got an email every time someone replied, I'm sure it would add to the "community" feel here. At least then I wouldn't check back twice a day only to find no-one has answered my questions. That's called "having your hopes smashed".

   I could just forget that I had asked here and go looking for the answer myself. Then, when I have failed that because maybe I really did need someone else's knowledge or opinion, and when finally someone did decide to answer one of my posts (Oh sweet delirious JOY!), then I would receive the pleasant surprise of an email from WordPress.

   (I've asked 7 questions this week, and none have been answered. I got a better strike rate over at Joomla! I like the look and layout of WordPress more, but am wondering if the forum structure here makes it easier for newbies like myself to be lost in the noise?)

   I know it's not quite the same, but if you use a feed reader program, you can add the RSS feeds for your topics, so you will see new postings to them.

   You can also click 'Add this topic to your favorites', which will generate a single RSS feed for the topics you have favorited.

   OK, maybe 'Add this topic to your favorites' is the way to go because I was concerned about having 50 RSS subscriptions to each and every individual thread.

   Still, email notification sits in your in-tray like something "to do"... but anyway, I'll give it a go.

   Oh, one more thing... do I have to subscribe to "Favourites" somehow for ALL my forum topics I want notified to show up under the one RSS feed?

   I've made this a favourite but there's nothing new in my RSS Google reader.

   If I RSS a thread, will it take it out of favourites?

   OK, don't worry, found it... I RSS'd my "Favourites" and got it running in Google Reader... and this post here will probably come up in both my RSS to the individual thread and favourites RSS as well.

   So, when I hit POST we'll see if it works. If you don't hear back from me, it has!
