Support » Fixing WordPress » I want to have different permalinks for Posts and Pages

  • My website is: twijunkies.com

If you go to the “pages” (about, fandom, etc), you will see that they’re “pretty” links.

    example: twijunkies.com/fandom/

I’ve done this by putting “/%category%/%postname&/” in the custom structure of the permalink setting page.

But the thing is, it does the same thing to the “posts” I do on the blog. The problem with this is that when I click “comments” or the “title” link on a post, it sends it to a list of similar posts in the same category. I want it to send viewers to a page with JUST that post. Not to mention, when I click comments, the comment option doesn’t even show up.

So, I was wondering how to make it so the permalinks aren’t the same for both the pages and posts.

    Thank you!

  • Try using /%category%/%postname%/ as your custom permalink structure. Right now, all of your post links are broken.

Yeah, I stated above that that’s what I put for the structure.

You’ve got an ampersand in your permalink structure in your original post. Is that just a typo?

    Oh. My. God.

I can’t believe I never noticed that. It’s one of those things you just look passed.

Wow, thanks so much Alism (and esmi, because you were correct too, it just went over my head)

    Thanks you two.

    Blonde moment.

Yeh – I get those too. Possibly something to with actually being blonde. 😉
