I want to export the posts tables into a fresh install.

Hi is it easy to just export the posts from one wordpress install and import them into another fresh install? My wordpress database is starting to look a bit ropey with excessive tables and looks a bit like a plugin grave yard. I am used to using phpmyadmin and messed about with quite a few WordPress sites now and thought rather than try and clean up the database it might be easier for me to just grab the relevant tables that handle the posts information and start again. If it is easy, what tables do I need to deal with?

Otherwise am I making this too complicated and is there an easier way?
