   I would like to be able to choose the category that appears in the permalink url when using %category% if there are multiple categories for a post, rather than have WordPress use the one with the lowest ID. Can this be done?

   P.S. I am very sorry but I know I have asked this in other forums (and have marked the posts resolved) but now I'm a bit more familiar with this site I realise this is the place I should be asking.

   Sorry, not really - otherwise I'd have answered your question when I saw it the first time.
   The reason I don't post "I-don't-know"-kind of answers: many helpers go first to the un-answered view of posts and try to give answers according to their expertise. Now, by a dummy answer or a bumping the post is removed from the queue...

   I have an idea that it might be possible to make a plugin or a hack that forces WordPress see a new order of categories both when they are in the Permalink and when they appear in the_category() in the loop. Is this true?
