I wish you would have posted a suggestion to the Support Forum first — I thought the basic / free version was fairly complete (keeping the more advanced / custom features for the Pro version), but I’m always open to suggestions for new features, etc.

    Anyway, thanks for you feedback.

Following your feedback, I listed the different Free and Pro version features in more detail (see http://wordpress.org/plugins/wpsso/). I can assure you that the Free version packs a ton of features, although — and this may be the unfortunate part — many of those features operate automatically and unseen by end-users.

For your information, here is the detailed list of features:

    Free (GPL) Version

    * Adds Open Graph / Rich Pin meta tags (Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest).
    * Configurable image sizes, title and description lengths for different contexts (Facebook, Google, etc.).
    * Optional fallback to a default image and video for index and search webpages.
    * Validation of source image dimensions to provide accurate images for the social websites.
    * Auto-generation of innacurate / missing WordPress image sizes.
    * Support for embedded videos (iframe and/or object HTML tags).
    * Fully render content (including shortcodes) for accurate description texts.
    * Include author and publisher profile URLs for Facebook and Google Search.
    * Include hashtags from Post / Page WordPress Tags.
    * Include the author’s name for Pinterest Rich Pins.
    * Uses object and transient cache for fastest execution speed.
    * Provides Facebook, Google+ and Twitter URL profile contact fields.
    * Includes a Google / SEO description meta tag if a known SEO plugin is not detected.
    * Validation tools and meta tag preview information on admin edit pages.

    Pro (Power User) Version

    * Adds Twitter Card meta tags (Summary, Large Image Summary, Photo, Gallery, Player, and Product).
    * Additional image sizes for each type of Twitter Card.
    * Additional profile contact fields with configurable label and field names.
    * Custom meta tag values (topic, description, image, video, etc.) for each Post, Page, and custom post type.
    * Ability to turn off / exclude specific Google / SEO, Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags.
    * Integrates with 3rd party plugins and services for additional image, video, product, and content information.
