[resolved] I update code changes in the theme editor but then it reverts back to old code (4 posts)

I've tried reinstalling WP and checked file permissions and everything is ok. I've searched all over the forums and cannot find an answer to this problem.

I make changes to my stylesheet.css and click the update button on the bottom of my theme editor and the page refreshes and all I see is the old code. None of my changes take effect anywhere...

Any ideas what to check next?

    Thanks!

    chmod that file to 666
    try it then
chmod back to 644 when done for security

I changed the values to 666 and tested it and it still reverts back to the old code I had prior to updating it...

Another idea perhaps? I'm clueless as to what could be causing the problem at this point.

    *EDIT*
I actually went back through my logs and found this.

    Command: SITE CHMOD 666 header.php
Response: 500 'SITE CHMOD 666 header.php': command not understood

Why would it not accept the command to change the values?

    Solved!

I found an area on the server that was set to NOT allow applications to modify the files. Changed it to allow applications to modify the files and tested it out and it worked!

    Thanks for trying samboll!
