   I filled out the form for my new blog around noon, but still haven't gotten my email from WordPress. Does anyone know if there is systemic problem or id the process just very slow because of the holiday? Thanks, Ben

   At wordpress.com? Here we discuss self or third party hosted WordPress installations, so if my guess is right you better ask or look at wordpess.com

   I guess maybe I'm a bit lost. I tried to get a username/account & will use that name to set up a blog on my own server. I didn't ask for a blog, just a member account. Is that wrong?

   Sorry Roguewave, I am not familiar with setting up own server situations. Indeed, after the first install WP is supposed to email you your first password that goes with Admin.

   Resetting the password doesn't do anything. Is there a place on WordPress other than this forum where you can email or contact WordPress about why the activation email for my blog still hasn't come? I'm lost as to why there's no line of communication?

   It sounds like you're on the wrong site. This WordPress.org forum is for self-hosted WordPress.
