• So I was dumb. I was poking around my database, trying to figure out the solution to one problem (whenever I’d update my widgets, or try to access my media library, I kept getting a page load error — wordpress kept cutting off the http://www.domainname.com portion of the link to my wordpress directory)… and I ended up adding a couple of tables to the option_name field by accident… full text, index… once I realized this, I deleted them, trying to put it back as I found it. However, when I tried accessing my blog, I received the dreaded “Error establishing a database connection” message.

So here’s my question — is there an easy way to restore that specific field? Or the database in general? If you couldn’t tell, I’m new to all this database stuff… I’m not exactly sure what info’s held there, if it’s possible to back stuff up, etc, etc. I’m willing to simply start from scratch, so long as I can grab the content.

Any help would be greatly appreciate. And yes, I’m fully aware that I am a Grade A, 100% dumbass.

Thanks for the advice. Do you know if there’s any way to “backdoor access” past posts to back them up? I’m not sure where WordPress stores posts…

Nevermind. Found it in the database.
