• I removed word press from my cPanel and when I tried to reinstal wordpress it give me the following information.
THE INSTALLATION CNA NOT BE COMPLETED:

_You chose to install in the main directory of the domain softroad4u.com, but here are confilivting filenames, therefore we can not proceed.
Following filenames already exit in the main directory of the domain softroad4u.com (path=”/home/softroad/public_html/”). You must manually remove thse files before proceeding with auto-instalation:
    wp-admim
    wp-content
    wp-includes

Ckick on the browsers BACK BUTTON to fix reported errors.

could someone please tell me how to do this.
    Thank Mary

  • You haven’t removed your old WordPress installation completely.

In your file manager section of cPanel, you need to delete the wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes folders. Also, remove any files in your public_html folder which start with wp- and end in .php as these will be part of the same installation.

Then, try the new installation again. πŸ™‚

i deleted my wordpress and wants to re-install it
    but its showings an error

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user ‘freakmob’@’localhost’ (using password: YES) in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1293830107.25298vYEMZkRCYF on line 1743
Access denied for user ‘freakmob’@’localhost’ (using password: YES)

    help me for this asap

You need to delete all wordpress files as looks like you still have some files as that error is because some file trying to connect on to database.

@ govpatel: Thanks for the reply Sir, but still can u say which files are remaining to be deleted.

I need to know what files you have in root to know which ones to delete.

@govpatel: sorry sir but i cant understand which files should i tell u……i mean can u say which application or folder is called root…….so that i can tell u the files

@govpatel: i have deleted public_html from File Manager

You should never delete public_html as that is root folder for your domain name you need to recreate that folder as soon as possible and permission should be 750

Now that you have blank public_html you can install wordpress in that folder if you want wordpress in root.

    i have created public_html wth permission 750
Sir, can u say what should i write in Install in directory column while installing wordpress.
    Thanks for the HELP SIR

I have a video tutorial on my website will walk through on how to install wordpress and manage wordpress admin panel.

Sir, i have cpanel web hosting, in cpanel i have to install wordpress from Fantastico De Luxe
Sir can u please give any solution to just install wordpress
and also help me to add download button to my site

When you’re in Fantastico, click on WordPress > New Installation. If you want your WordPress to be in root directory of your domain (example.com) leave the field empty. If you would like the WordPress to be in (example.com/wordpress) enter “wordpress” in “Install in Directory” field.

    That’s all.

Type in your desired admin username and password, the final step is to click Install WordPress button.

And here is this in video tutorial http://youtu.be/hxDNJa3RZQ4

    Cheers,
    Emil

@emil Uzelac I have tried to help web_master and found out that the reason he keeps on getting error is that server will not let me assign a user to the database so looks like he has server problem as even with Fantastico he will get same error.

I need to delete my bloog. I am not using it well.
My dashboard has tools, but only import, export and no delete tab. I am using 3.0.4

    Thanks Riley

if you want to delete the blog you will need to do that from server as you can not delete with in admin panel.
