I really didn't understand your instructions to customize files

    As you said

    The look of the email and download forms can be changed by copying files from the /css/ and /templates/ folder of the plugin into your active theme folder. Rename the files ssd-original_file_name.php/css (e.g. ssd-download.php or ssd-ss-downloads.css) and edit as needed.

    I really do not understand. I usually make the same folder structure in my active theme and put the files I want to edit/modify, but it doesn’t work in this plugin

    That’s a great idea and one we support in plugins like Paid Memberships Pro, however as coded in ss-downloads right now what you need to do is copy the .php file into the root of your active theme (and maybe your parent theme) and add “ssd-” to the front of the filename.

    So if you wanted to templatize the emailsent.php file, you would create a file ssd-emailsent.php and put it in the root of the theme.
