    WordPress page: http://suburbanlg.com/wordpress/
    Theme: Twenty Ten
I am fairly familiar with HTML, but brand new to WordPress and I am thoroughly confused when attempting to use the editor to change the font color for all of the links in my widget area... (hope I haven't messed anything up...)
Basically I was looking for all main text to be black and I
need to change all links (the alink and vlink) to #669933. Can you please help? Thanks!

Don't edit the Twenty Ten theme. Instead create a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

Apparently I was not able to edit the Twenty Ten anyway so I guess no harm done.....will check into the child theme and get back to you ...thanks!!

I do not have access to the files, myself (our website is off-site hosted) and they control it. I have requested that a Twenty Ten child theme be installed in our Theme directory. If that is done, will I then have access to edit?

    Thanks again!

will I then have access to edit

That will be up to whoever is actually running the site. You would need to have Admin status to edit the files.

I am the admin for our blog, but the files are not stored on our server...they are stored on our webhosting company's server. Will this be a problem if they get the child installed into the directory?

they are stored on our webhosting company's server

Most WP sites use files stored on remote servers. You can edit the theme files via Appearance->Themes. Or use FTP to download files, edit them and then upload the amended files back up.
