I just don’t know where to start

I’m to use wordpress but I just don’t know what it’s talking about. I’ve never had a site before to I have no idea what database their talking about? I’m using freewebs right now because I don’t want to pay for a place if I can’t get this working first. Has anyone made a really simplified tutorial for this, everyone i’ve found I can’t understand.
