I installed wordpress.com download for a simple blog now looking to upgrade

    Looking to use wordpress cms to create a website. I have already downloaded wordpress.com’s download for a simple blog. DO I need to do a new download from wordpress.org for the cms site? If so will it over ride my other download, so will I need to back up all my stuff and start over?
