   Hi

   I am new to wordpress and just tried installing Statpress for my site. I first downloaded the zip file from the wordpress website then extracted it and then put it in the wp-content folder through filezilla. All good so far however when I log into wordpress and click on plugins the statpress plugin doesn't show up. This is the first plugin I have tried to install.

   I would appreciate any help please.

   Well, you should switch to WP SlimStat:

   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-slimstat/

   Much better than StatPress :) And actively maintained and supported!
