   I haven't even finished setting up my wordpress blog yet today I received some threatening comments on my site. Here they are with the vulgarity left out....

   (1) "I received aan email telling me to re-register my craigslist account and it originated frome a site that is connected to this webpage. WHY. That email is an ILLEGAL attempt to obtain my personal information. It has been reported"

   (2) "You are so #@%*$#@!"

   (3) "When I catch up with you I plan to kick your teeth in."

   (4) "stop trying to steal my *&&^ or i will destroy you."

   Anybody want to tell me what is going on? I have never visited "Craig's List" and would not know how to impersonate anyone even if I did!!

   More like spammers and pranksters and the like. You can install this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-ban/ and ban commenter via IP or email address, etc.

   or one of these plugins
   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/ban

   It's probably just some spammer using your domain as the from address. Unfortunately some people getting such spam are not clever enough to realise that the spam doesn't necessarily come from you.

   Agreed! Looks like total spam. Just curious though, how many total comments do you have? If you only have four and all of them are aggressive like these, that does seem strange.
