I have 20 Feedburner subscribers, but 320 "subscribers" in WP (6 posts)

    When I go into my "Users" tab on my WordPress dashboard, there are 362 "subscribers".
    The only way I know to subscribe to my blog is via a Feedburner link I've set up.
    But Feedburner says I only have 20 subscribers.
    Any idea what's going on??

    Check your <head> section on your website.
    There is the WordPress Feed URL instead of the feedburner url. People will subscribe to the WP Feed right now.

    You can redirect your WP feed URL to feedburner with this snippet added to your themes`s function:

    add_action('template_redirect', 'ilc_rss_redirect');
    function ilc_rss_redirect() {
    	if ( is_feed() && !preg_match('/feedburner|feedvalidator/i', $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'])){
    		header('Location: http://feeds.feedburner.com/buildbettersleep');
    		header('HTTP/1.1 302 Temporary Redirect');
    	}
    }

    Thanks, Gerald. The thing I don't get is why I'm getting all these subscribers this way. The only obvious way to subscribe on the site is to use the "subscribe" link that goes to Feedburner!?!?! Any idea?

  4. How are you determining your 362 "subscribers"? via the Jetpack widget?

    On the WordPress dashboard - look under USERS / SUBSCRIBERS

    You get these subscribers this way because most browsers pick the feed url which is set in your head part and add as a small RSS icon in the browsers address bar. some people use this button to subscribe to a website instead of a "subscribe now" link on the site.
