   I dont want to see the whole article on the home page, just a preview. as you see on my homepage when you look at an article you can read the whole thing. but i just want to show a preview and then to read the whole thing you have to click read more. does anyone know how i can do this?

   Use the_excerpt insead of the_content in your index.php file, it should do what you need.
