   So I downloaded a theme, pulled out the folder from the zip file, dragged it onto my ftp (firezilla) in wp-content>themes, waited a looong time for it to transfer

   but

   It isn't showing up in my WordPress dashboard?
   Did I do something wrong or did I miss a step? Thanks

   By the way, not sure if this makes a difference but my theme was from themeforest

   Leave the file in the zip format and go to your: dashboard>Themes>
   You will find two tabs, MANAGE and INSTALL. CLick the install tab. Under the two tabs you will see an "upload" link. From here, upload the zip file. You should then see the theme ready to be activated.

   That wouldn't work at all, kept timing out.

   I was able to download the theme properly (found out what I was doing wrong) but now I get this at the bottom of my theme page:
   The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

   Name Description
   Bolder Stylesheet is missing.

   Why would a theme from themeforest not have a stylesheet?

   Could be an incomplete download.

   Just an FYI. That is the way I have installed my themes from day one of using wordpress. In fact it is an instructional method. Could be a connection issue on your part m8. You have a time out issue happening and perhaps a corrupt dl ....

   Try searching for the theme through the search function that is in your dash and see if you can get it installed that way.
