I couldn't "Customize" my theme…but now I'm locked out.

    I wished to update my site this morning…but recognized that I was NOT able to customize my theme in any way. The link to the customize page would come up…with the menu on the left. But my site did not load on the right…and I couldn’t interact with any link.

    I searched through this support forum for guidance…before creating a new topic…and found this page http://wordpress.org/support/topic/cant-customize-or-preview-my-themes?replies=11. I followed the advice to shift my settings to http://alaniastarhawk.com instead of http://www.alaniastarhawk.com. I was immediately pushed out of the site…and can no longer gain access to my site or dashboard. I’m quite upset that there truly false information was available on this forum….AND that there is no direct assistance available when it is truly needed.

    I appreciate kind assistance from anyone who is able to share. But i would gratefully appreciate direct assistance from wordpress.org. Thank YOU!!!!

    contact your hosting provider to help you with this. I’ve done something similar and that is how I got back in.

    Thank you for your kind thoughts. I will try that. But…the issue is with wordpress. I just need to get into my dashboard…and then I can switch it back.

    the problem is, you won’t be able to get back into your dashboard because you changed the url.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

    will explain how to change it back. But as I said earlier, your hosting company should be able to access and reset it for you if you can’t figure out the directions listed.
