  • If you see a page saying the domain is parked, then it means your host isn’t displaying your content yet. Contact your host.

FYI, these sorts of changes often take a day or two to propagate through all the web’s name servers. Patience might be the order of the day.

Ok, I spoke to my host and they adjusted things so that when I go to my new domain it says “this is a test.” No more “parked” message.

To set up wordpress on that new domain, do I just install a new instance of it? Or am I supposed to somehow use my old one even though it was on a different domain? Thanks.

    It depends what you want.
Do you want a brand new blog or do you want to continue the old one?
If continuing/transferring the old one… you were supposed to save/backup your data from the old location.

Nope, I would like a brand new one. Don’t care about the old now. 🙂

Then just install a new instance of it entirely from scratch. That’s likely to be the easiest way to do it if you don’t care about the old one.
