Hello, I apologize if already answered…I couldn’t find a specific answer so hope somebody can help.

I recently activated my WordPress site within my Network Solutions shared hosting package. I was told to secure the login using my SSL, but a NetSol SSL won’t work for a WP site. (Thankfully, they are refunding $$ for the unused portion of my now-useless SSL.) (To be clear, WordPress is offered in the NetSol package, and I log into my NetSol account and then into the WP site through my account, BUT the WP login opens in another tab that isn’t secure.)

All the forums say to purchase your SSL through your web host provider, but
    1. What do I do when my web host provider’s version is useless? I’m trying to avoid a tangled mess of trying to use a cert from Company B on Company A’s servers. How does this normally work? 2. Can anybody advise what I should look for or avoid when selecting a place to buy it? Netsol said they would help install it once I get one… 3. Does anyone have experience with installing another company’s SSL with Netsol and advice on what to look for or avoid?

I sell products through my site…I have a Pro account with PayPal, and orders are processed through PP’s servers, so I don’t use an e-commerce plugin that might offer an SSL (????? not sure I understand this correctly)… (Versions of this question were addressed in relation to WooCommerce…I tried WooCommerce but had issues with their page layouts so for now am just using the PayPal-generated codes to create ‘add to cart’ buttons in lieu of using a dedicated e-commerce plugin.)

    4. Should I be afraid to log in to the WP admin until I resolve this security issue? (I did install WP Better Security and I’ve done most security steps so there are no red items.)

Thank you for any help you can offer.

    Victoria
