   When I try to upload xmlrpc.php or class-pclzip.php on my FTP I get a connection timeout error. What can I do?

   Brother, I was having the same problem when I tried to upgrade to wp 2.7. Those files were just not uploading at all...wth! I tried all the ways but neither worked. So, I informed my host (webhostingpad) about this and asked for help in the support center. One of the staff uploaded the wp 2.7 installation file to my root and then I upgraded it myself without any problem.Thnx to webhostingpad's awesome fast support that saved my butt.

   Therefore, best thing I can suggest u is to ask your host to upload the installation files for you as it worked for me. Best of luck.

   Hmm, very odd. Perhaps you should see if your web host has a file manager in their control panel? If your web host does have a web-based file manager, try uploading those files manually through there. Good luck!

   Not gonna help, I tried to upload files with my cPanel file manager but it didn't work either. Go submit a ticket for your web host support center and ask them to upload wp 2.7.zip for you. Then go on with the up gradation yourself
