  • Look at your login URL; somehow you got antivirus-and-firewall-software.org in your login URL. Did you edit wp-config correctly? What did you enter during the Fantastico install process?

    Thanks for your reply

It’s a sub domain. I selected the url: http://www.woodshedplansblog.com and left the directory blank. then i selected a username and password as normal. Which I can’t login with.

Is it giving me trouble because I installed it on a sub domain?

subdomain as in blahblahblah.mydomain.com, or subdirectory as in mydomain.com/blahblahblah?

The first is a subdomain you set up in DNS with your host; the second is a subdirectory, which is no problem to set up for WordPress. Talk to your host about how to set up a subdomain, if that’s what you want.

I have installed in under mydomain.com not under blabla.mydomain.com.

So it should be ok, should it not?

Strange can’t figure out why it is not working.
I tried a different hosting account, which is working fine.

    Weird….

any other ideas what it could be?

Explain exactly what you did; what did you leave “blank”?

I selected the url: http://www.woodshedplansblog.com and left the directory blank.

Okay This is what I did exactly.

I purchased a domain, from godaddy. Pointed them to the right name servers. I’ve got c-class hosting with seohosting. Then I installed it as a sub domain under. antivirus-and-firewall-software.org.

I went into fantastico and filled in the following:
    install on domain: woodshedplansblog.com
install in directory: (left it blank)
    Administrator username: made one up
    password: made one up
    Administrator nickname: made one up
    sitename: Wood Shed Plans
    Description: made one up

What I then did was I 301 redirect.
Saved it as a .htaccess (in texteditor) on my desktop, and uploaded it in the main folder of woodshedplans.com.
Then i tested the redirect, which strangly enough did not work. It said something about cookies.
    So i deleted it again.

    Then I opened: woodshedplansblog.com/wp-admin/
    which keeps defaulting to:
    http://www.antivirus-and-firewall-software.org/woodshedplansblog.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.antivirus-and-firewall-software.org%252Fwoodshedplansblog.com%252Fwp-admin%252F

    automatically strangly enough.

When I then type in the username and password as entered it loads for a couple of seconds and then stays on the same page.

This was the process that happend.
Hopefully you can see what I did wrong?

    Thanks for your help.

to be very precise. This is what is says when uploading the redirect:

    The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
    * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept
    cookies.

I have solved the canonical issue, so now it’s just:
    http://www.woodshedplansblog.com/wp-admin/

    the url is displaying fine.

But it still won’t let me log in.
