• I’m using the auto-installer in Administration. The plugins that download as a .zip file already are uploading just fine. But there are a lot of plugins that download as a folder, which don’t auto-install. So I zipped them into a .zip file (using the function available with the Mac OSX operating system) and auto-installed them. The auto installer SAID the installations were each successful, BUT they’re not showing up in the “Manage Plugin” list. (And I verified that the files ARE in the File Manager in my hosting cPanel.)

So what am I doing wrong? I am VERY green, so please speak in small words and give detailed instructions. 🙂

    Thanks!!

  • Have you confirmed that these plugins are compatible with your version of WordPress?

I’m guessing you have an extra directory in there somewhere. A plugin should be in wp-content/plugins/pluginname/pluginname.php or very similar. I’d bet you have something more like wp-content/plugins/pluginname/pluginname/pluginname.php.
