Support » Themes and Templates » I can’t get my layout to change

  • Urggh. I am getting frustrated.
    I finally figure out how to change the layout to look like I want it to look, but now, I can’t get it to display. I have uploaded it as well as editted it through the templates menu in Word Press. What am I doing wrong?
    Here is the layout…

    Modifications by Matthew Mullenweg || http://photomatt.net
    This is just a basic layout, with only the bare minimum defined.
    Please tweak this and make it your own. 🙂

    Err……yes…….but …. you have edited files, and say that it is not what you think it should be.
    We cannot know what you think it is, we can only know what it does look like.
    So what do you *think* is wrong ?
    If it is your CSS changes, then make this change:
    #content {
    margin: 30px 13em 0 3em;
    padding-right: 60px;
    background-color: #ff0000;
    }
    If part of the page goes red, then the css is working.
    No need to paste anything else 🙂

    The background should be brown. I don’t have an example of how it should look.

    It is.
    background: #BD7300; is in the CSS, and it’s what I see on the page.
    Go to your page, Click anywhere on it.
    Press CTRL and F5 together.

    Thanks. I don’t understand what happened, but it worked.

    Your browser was using it’s cache.
    After ANY css changes, use CTRL-F5 to force a refresh.
