[resolved] I can't get any slider to work in Custom Community Theme (5 posts)

I've spent the last several days trying to find a slider to use on my blog's website but no matter how many I try I can't get any of them to work. On every occasion all that shows up on the homepage where I'm trying to get the slider to display are the various shortcodes, PHP codes or html scripts the plugin instructions have told me to use in the index file or php file (depending on the particular slider). i.e. no images, no slider, just random bits of text.

The theme I use is Custom Community, is this theme particularly resistant to accepting a slider other than the basic version included with it or am I doing something fundamentally wrong. Any advice would be much appreciated, been going crazy trying to figure this thing for nearly a week now.

    My website is http://thoughthouse.org

The sliders I've tried so far include:-

    WOW slider - http://wowslider.com/wordpress-jquery-slider.html
    Slideshow - http://wordpress.org/plugins/slideshow-jquery-image-gallery/

and too many others for me to remember.

    Thanks

I recall someone was complaining about the same issue, can't find that post, it was a few months ago.

As an alternative, an owner picked

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/easyrotator-for-wordpress/

    and it worked.

I've managed to find a slider plug in that will display in the theme, I just can't get it to go where I'd like for it to go. I'm told the best thing is to open a separate thread more accurately describing the issue. And mark this topic as resolved.

    Thanks.
