I cant find my API number, can any one please tell me where is can find my API number.
    I am using wordpress 2.3.1
When I register my youtube account to Adsense I need my API and API url link.
(Your API key and API URL will be saved automatically; you will not need to type them in when you post a video. )

If you already have/registered for an API key, then:

    1. Log in at http://wordpress.com
    2. Go into your profile there

Actually YouTube is wrong on this, you don't really need the API key for a self-hosted blog. Just put anything in there, doesn't matter. You only need the API key for a wordpress.com blog.

Your URL link will be the URL of the xmlrpc.php file on your site. Like http://example.com/wordpress/xmlrpc.php or similar.

I'm having trouble locating my API url for my wordpress account as well. I want to upload videos on dailymotion and have been unsuccessful using previous advise.

Let's go over the points some people are not getting:

    1. (self-hosted) WordPress does not come with an API key. You'll not find one displayed anywhere in your (self-hosted) WordPress admin until you actually acquire and add it yourself.

    2. To get a WordPress.COM API key, let's say to activate a certain plugin (*cough*Akismet*cough*), you must get that key at:

    http://wordpress.com/

    3. You do not need to set up a blog on WordPress.COM to get a WordPress.COM API key; just a login/account will do.

    4. Once you have a login on WordPress.COM (not WordPress.ORG, not your self-hosted WordPress installation), you'll find the WordPress.COM API key under your Profile there. It's also sent to you by email when your account is first set up.

    5. WordPress.ORG does not equal WordPress.COM.

i get an error message with my blog-settings in youtube...
i'm trying to use it on a self-hosted wordpress

    got the right api-key ...
and trying to point api url to:

    http://example.com/wordpress/xmlrpc.php

    doesn't work...

in my wordpress stats, i see that youtube is connecting to my xmlrpc.php ...so it 's reachable ...

    Anybody suggestions?
Or is this a youtube failure?

    thnx a lot

In settings, you have to enable XMLRPC. The option is found under Settings->Writing.

The above answer is correct, I just googled how to do this and found this thread.

I read what everyone wrote and it worked fine.

    Thanks
