   Presently, I have set the "front page displays" as 'A static page'. But whenever I try to change to 'Your latest posts', it will give me this error :

   Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSE in /mnt/local/home/myname/myblog/wp-content/themes/3954/index.php on line 42

   Any professional help to resolve this issue, please?

   Change themes to the WordPress Default theme and see if the problem persists.

   If that fixes the problem, download a clean version of your theme. Looks like something wrong in the theme's index.php.

   Because the path of your error goes to the index of your theme, I'm inclined to think that it is a problem with your theme.

   I would try switching to the default theme, and then try changing to the latest posts. If that works you know your theme is to blame.
