I installed WordPress using Fantastico But I can't access my admin page. I just can't figure it out!

when I type my domain/wp-admin/, it takes me to the general "go daddy" website which basically says my site is under construction

    Can someone please help.

    thanks!

Is your DNS pointing properly? That'd be the first thing to check. Your domain may be masking another location at the base, but not for subfolders. The basic GoDaddy page pops up when you are pointed to GoDaddy but don't have any website setup there.

DNS pointing? masking at the base?? what? That's all gibberish to me. I'm having the same problem, how you 'repoint' your DNS and what do you point it too?

Also, I was on live chat with Host Gator who hosts my site and they said in can take up to 48 house after you change the nameservers. I only changed mine a half hour ago so we'll wee if that's the problem.

DNS/NameServers, sorry, that's part of what I was referring to. If you recently change your NameServers or A record/CNAME and pointed it to your new host, then it could take 48 hours for propagation.

In star1one's case, I'm not sure if the NameServers were properly changed to begin with, or they still need to be updated.

Hi I am having a similar problem. I installed wordpressthrough GoDaddy, NOT the manual install. When i go to the admin URL it is just my website that i created through WIX. Where would i find the Nameservers to point to for the WordPress Admin?

Thanks for any help you can offer, this is all new to me.

Whoever you registered your domain through, you would need to work with them to have the NameServers pointed. You will also need to check with GoDaddy to find out which NameServers you need to point to.
