I accidently change myself from admin to editor. How can I change myself back to admin? I cannot get to the users, appearance, etc. now either, all admin bars are gone.

Posted 5 months ago #I am the only Admin, otherwise I would have done what you're saying, and not wrote to this forum. I can't change anything from my wordpress, as I said I can no longer get to the users to get to where I can change back myself to Admin. Any other smart suggestions?

[$] open the "[your wp table prefix]_usermeta" table and look for your username
[$] find the column which has "[your wp table prefix]_capabilities" & a:1:{s:6:"editor";s:1:"1";} in value and change the value to a:1:{s:13:"administrator";s:1:"1";} -
Posted 5 months ago #I have opened my wp stuff on my cpanel. But it does not make sense as this is what it says and I have done nothing, this is the way it was and still is when I opened as you expressed me to do. WPUser settings is the only place it says anything about Editor. So now what?

in "[your wp table prefix]_usermeta" table look for your user id and the meta_key value "wp_capabilities" and let me know the meta_value of it.if you could send a screenshot i could look in to it

if you could export and send the sql script of the user & usermeta table that would be easy to figure out the issue.

Posted 5 months ago #I sent it already. Anything deeper than this on the server, we will need to get on Skype and do a computer to computer call so I can share my screen as you direct me in the Server. I am illiterate with this stuff.

grab the quick support version (small in size & no install needed) from here and run.
it will give you an ID and a random password, share them with me through email so i can connect your computer from my TW.
