Support » Fixing WordPress » HTTPS certificate problems: How to change blog URL to http?

  • I’ve never written “HELP!’ before, but HELP! When I installed WordPress, I set it up to use https:// as the blog URL (as part of the solution to a comment spam problem). However, I ha ve run into some problems with renewing the certificate and all my https calls fail because that is not set up correctly. I’d like to try to get the wordpress functionality back by changing it from https to http. I’m assuming it is getting this from the ABSPATH? If that is not correct, where can I change the blog URL so it will simply use http instead of https? Thanks in advance!

  • Hey,

I think you can do this by editing the two options – WordPress address and Blog Address inside your admin control panel (go to options). If you can’t access the admin control panel then you will have to do it via the database using PhpMyAdmin and the like. There’s a tutorial on how to do this here.
