For some reason, google thinks one page within my wordpress site is https, and I get a certificate error in both Safari and Chrome.

This specific page is structurally the same as all my other pages—no links to external sites. I do not have a SSL certificate, as I do not sell products or take credit cards.

Specifics: pasting a direct link to the page in question works fine in all browsers. It’s only when I do a google search for the specific terms to bring that page up, and then select that link within the search results list, do I get the error.

    Any advice?

Can you post example of a page where you find the problem? If no such page exists, tell Google to ignore it. Just head to Google Webmaster Tools.

Yes, here is the search string. It should be the first link in the results list (Acquazzone: Design to envision). When I select it, I get the certificate error. My web host, mediatemple.net, also get the error.

When I click on the above link I get the warning message:
    This Connection is Untrusted ---
The link is: https://acquazzone.net/work/reverie-classical-guitars. If your actual link does not have https but http. Does Google show it as Not Found or something similar to that? If so, you can tell Google to ignore it. It will go away from SERP after sometime.

No, google shows it as found—when I click the link it goes to the page.

No https security settings, or external links on this page, though. I don’t get this error when searching other pages to my site, which are basically the same as this.

But I do not think that link actually exists in your site. Your link is with out the s (not https). Have you checked if the actual link is indexed?

Now I understand what you’re saying. But how do I fix it?

When I click in the google search result (with the https) it does go to the right page.

I checked the permalink to that page in the wordpress admin, and wp specifies http:// (no s).

All of my other pages, and main domain, come up in google searches without any www. or http://, just the domain-name.com/directory

It’s OK. As I said, the only problem is if the https version is shown as not found. Check it. As it is, your site contain link as you wanted to have. So, you may submit a new site map and look for not found pages, etc. So, please go to your Google WMT and pursue the issue there.
    Good Luck.

Hi. The problem I have is that google and or wordpress is serving up an https link for this specific page, and potential clients are getting the certificate error. So it likely will be limiting traffic to my site.

I did submit a site map to google, and I’ll see how to look for not found pages.

    Thanks for your help!
