    I downloaded and installed buddypress...

    Then I installed https

I discovered that all pages "other than" the index page displayed a page 404 error code.

The resolve was to change the permalinks back to "default" and presto! The pages were visible in a browser once again!

Then. When viewing a section in the admin panel a Buddypress message displayed reading "BuddyPress is almost ready. You must update your permalink structure to something other than the default for it to work."

Are the two plugins not compatible? Would not the changing of a permalink structure defeat the purpose of having permalinks?

Is there a way to create harmony of these items?

I tried to uninstall https but still the problem of using "anything but default" will cause page 404 error pages.

  2. What plugin for https are you using?

The name of the plugin is "WordPress HTTPS"

I have discovered two thing that I needed to do.

    1. First I added the "User" for JessiesCorner.EverythingAgricultural.com but I did not add the site.

    2. The permalinks was "other than" default on the subdomain. I changed the subdomain permalinks to "default" and this solved the page navigtion error 404.

But to me..it begs the question.. if someone had and existing site with custom permalinks or other structur (choice of given) permalinks what would have happened to the site after installing the HTTPS plugin? hmmm

On another similar note... I have a two top level domain network where I would prefer to use the "Day and Name" permalink structure. Knowing that the WordPress HTTPS plugin will not work on this next site has me hesitating to use the plugin until I find a resolve.

    Kind regards,

  5. You may need to ask this question on buddypress.org, as I don't know for sure. I think the WordPress HTTPS plugin works fine on Multisite.
