HTTP error on image uploader (7 posts)

Forgive me for posting this topic. I've scoured the forums these past 6 months for this problem and nothing seems to work.

Whenever I use the flash uploader for images, I get the HTTP error. For the longest time, I couldn't even USE the flash uploader, just the browser based uploader. Finally got the Flash working and now any time I try to use it, error.

I've tried using both Flashplayer 9 & 10. Same problem. Tried editing the .htaccess file. Same problem. Tried the HTTP error fixing plugin. Same problem.

I'm running WP 2.7.1, the latest version of Flashplayer, and Firefox as a browser on my Windows XP system.

Are there any current fixes I'm missing? Even checked with my host today and they say the problem is not in mod_security.

Any help appreciated. Thanks very much.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but have you checked through this list of problems/solutions?

Have you tried using another browser? I'm not suggesting you stop using Firefox but it might be worth checking to see if this is a browser-specific problem. I had problems a while back using the Visual tab in Firefox 2 and can only assume that it was something I'd changed in about:config as it disappeared when I changed machines and reinstalled FF. I'm currently using FF 3.0.8 on WinXP with Flash 10 and I'm not had any problems with the Flash uploader.

Another possibility might be a firewall config issue?

Was this problem ever resolved? I'm running into a similar one on Windows XP, IE and FF.

me too. Drives me crazy because if the only way to include images into post is by url link, you can't add descriptions or any other seo friendly info. What is the answer to solving this?

    Found the fix.
I tried the plugin in fix, but, finally fixed after contacting my
web host CS, and modifying my .htaccess file.

Try it. It would also advisable to parse it from PHP4 to PHP 5.
