   Hello,
   Last night I started an automatic update from within the wp-admin (2.7 I think to 3.1). After more than 1h of timeout, I decided to perform the update manually as the site displayed just a blank page (as it does now). Both update types led to the blank page and the HTTP500 server error thats being displayed now. I cant log into wp-admin and nothing is loading.

   OK so I think I found out what went wrong. I pointed the site to a new folder were I put a fresh WP installation. All OK. I ftp'ed just the old wp-config to that folder and I got the same http500error and blank page. I modified the wp-config to load a new fresh database and when I refreshed the site, the WP installation page came up.

   Looks like the installation corrupted my database and unfortunately for me, I didn't take a backup before I started the automatic upgrade (well I trusted it to be automatic and hassle free right?) Well I was WRONG, so now Im badly stuck as I need my site back :(

   Any ideas anyone? Can I recover my database in any way? Data and tables are still in phpMyAdmin but they're obviously corrupted.
   Id appreciate any help at all

   Server version: 5.0.83-community
   MySQL client version: 5.0.83
