  • Okay. I have spent the last 4 days reading, editing, and pulling my hair out trying to get my word press to look as closely to http://billybag.org as possible. I currently use greymatter and i love it… well because i can make it look like it is. It is missing so many features though (catagories/tags comes to mind), which is why i am switching to wordpress. i really really would first off, continue using html. for exmple, my sidebar… do i have to use sidebar.php? or can i simply edit the html file that my current menu is on to work with my wordpress blog? Can i keep my pain blog(posts) in its own iframe/window as well?

i love doing this stuff myself but i am so at my wits end, that i am willing to let someone just do it all for me.

  • Many questions … Why not accept WordPress as it is – a cms producing a dynamic site using php and storing the content in a database.

The output is html but, using php to dynamically create the output, you have a site that can grow without the need to hand craft each page in html.

You can amend the php coded templates to change the look and feel of the site, and how pages are ordered.

I think my problem, mostly, is i am just unformilure with PHP and feel more comfortable just using HTML. However, if i must, i will just start learning PHP. I really do like wordpress and such, so i am willing.

i think another thing is that with HTML, i can easily preview my site before uploading.
