   When I insert HTML entities (e.g. &\#8800;) in the HTML editor and then switch to visual editor the entity displays correctly.

   But switching back to the HTML editor shows that the CODE (&....;) has been converted into the character itself.

   EVEN WORSE: When I display the final post the character shows as "?" (questionmark).

   How can I make WordPress PRESERVE entity codes?
   How can I prevent WordPress to CONVERT entity codes to entities?
