HTML widget pushes sidebar to bottom (6 posts)

    Hi there,

    The widget at the bottom of my side bar ("by me a beer" and "by me a cocktail") are behaving strangely. When they're any higher in the sidebar, everything below them gets pushed to the bottom of the page.

    I've tried using just one of the images and not the other but this doesn't seem to help.

    What could possibly be causing this?

    Cheers,
    m.

  2. You've got a bunch of code errors from cutting and pasting from Word or another word processor, and missing closing tags in the sidebar from widgets that output bad code or from editing sidebar.php: [Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.goodbadandbogus.com/ - W3C Markup Validator. Missing tags will throw off display most of the time, and will be different in different browsers, too.

    Thanks very much for the help.

    That validator is confusing me a bit. It's saying that there's all kinds of missing tags in the following code but it doesn't look to me that there is...

    <table>

    <tr> <th><center><a href="http://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?223792"><img src="http://images.dreamhost.com/rewards/120x90-b.gif" alt="Dreamhost"></a> </center>  </th> <th><center><a href="http://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?223792"><img src="http://images.dreamhost.com/green5.png" alt="DreamhostGreen"></a> </center>
    </th> </tr>

    </table>
  4. It's saying that in XHTML, fully opened and closes image tags are in the form

    <img src="imgURL" alt="image" />

    instead of

    <img src="imgURL" alt="image">

    But, those errors aren't going to affect display. The missing <ul> and <li> tags are more of a problem....

    Regarding the missing

  6. tag, they must be ones put in by the theme or the widget since they're not in the XHTML that i'm entering into the widget...

    Does that mean it's a bug with the arrass theme? I haven't messed around with the theme at all.

    The only code i've added (bsides the stuff I quoted above) is pasted below.

    Thanks again for your help with this!

    <span class='buymeadrink-button'><a href='http://bmadrink.org/fioysn/go/' title='Buy Michael Slezak a beer.'><img alt='Buy Michael Slezak a beer.' style='border: none' src='http://bmadrink.org/media/img/buttons/f/i/o/y/s/n/fioysn.png' /></a><a title="What is this?" href='http://bmadrink.org/fioysn/'><img src='http://bmadrink.org/media/img/info.png' alt=' (What?)' style='border: none' /></a></span>

    Any luck resolving this problem? I have a client experiencing the same issue, albeit with a different plugin.

    Thanks.
