My home page displays fine and has the correct content that I inputted. However, when I returned to do additional editing, both the html editor and the TinyMice visual editor do not show the correct content. Most is missing, or completely incorrect. As I said, my page displays well, but I can’t edit now because what is actually on the page, does not display for me in the page editing area. Also, I cleared the cache and also uninstalled the TinyMice editor, but visual editor still shows next to html in the page editor even though I uninstalled it. I use the Suffusion theme.

  • I suspect there is some unclosed html element on your page that is swallowing up the editor. Can you edit other pages? Have you looked at it with Firebug or the Safari Web Inspector?

    Peter,

Yes, I can edit every other page. It seems like there is an autosave for the page that is overriding my current settings.

Is your site available online? If so I’ll take a look.

    Thanks Peter,

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

I ran your home page through the W3C Validator http://validator.w3.org/ and it reports a number of omitted end tags. These might be causing the problem.

    Peter,

Thank you so much. I used the W3C Validator you suggested. I was able to clear up most of the errors on the page. My visual editor is now working perfectly for the home page. Thanks again you were a life saver.

I like your site. I built our garden shed from scratch, used turbocad to design it, pine siding and cedar shingles. It’s only 6×8 ft, but it has a 7 ft door with a window in it and a window in the back.
