[resolved] HTML Formatting anomaly (3 posts)

When I create a new post as administrator and I manually add an HTML tag that doesn't appear in the visual editor, like a DIV, or an H5 heading, the added formatting appears correctly in both preview and online when the post is published. But if I or someone else logs in as anything less than administrator (for example, as an editor) and adds the exact same formatting to a post, it appears online with the HTML tags showing as if it were inside a CODE tag.

Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be changed?

Well, that really depends on what you want to do... Do you really want to allow editors to insert unrestricted HTML code onto your site?

If so, then get the Role Manager plugin, install it, and use it to give the "unfiltered_html" capability to the Editor roles.

Yes, we wanted the the editor in this case to be able to insert HTML, but your answer has now made us aware that WP defaults to this behavior in order to protect the site. Makes perfect sense.

    Thanks for the heads up!
