   Earlier today everything was fine, now this afternoon my HTML editor window is blank. The visual editor seems fine.

   • I've tried both Chrome and IE
   • I've tried various posts and pages
   • I've tried disabling all my plugins as well as resetting the plugins folder according to this Codex page

   What happened and how do I fix it?

   Have you tried re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

   I have not.

   Let me see if I have this straight - download WordPress again, and then in my C-Panel? or by FTP? copy the fresh files from those two directories over the existing files?

   Doesn't really matter, whichever you are most comfortable using. Just make sure that you stay well away from the wp-content folder.

   copy the fresh files from those two directories over the existing files?

   If you can cope with it, delete the complete wp-admin & wp-includes folder and then upload fresh copies. That's always the best way to ensure a clean set of files.

   ... and today it is magically all better ... so solved I guess (hope)
