Hi, with this new 2.0, the HTML editing on posts and pages is very finicky. Especially when it comes to ‘</ br>’. Out of the HTML posts, when I hit enter for spacing, it tends to generally vary in the text box, then be completely wrong on the post.

Aside from that, WordPress also seems to like to ignore some of the HTML editing I do, I’ll submit my changes, and when I go back, they aren’t there anymore.

    Is this a bug?

I really like WordPress, but I don’t like it thinking when I’m making alterations, it can go off on its own little tangents and ignore me. I feel like a parent with a rebellious teen here. Haha.

    Any help would be great.

  • If you’re doing advanced HTML or terribly concerned about editing HTML you’d probably be best without the WYSIWYG editor.

If you click on “Users” and then scroll to the bottom of the Profile page you will see a checkbox that allows you to turn the rich editor off. You can still use the older quicktags system (you’ll see it) to speed up your writing.
